Hey

Does anyone get full speeds from their connection when downloading torrents. I know it is limited to how much upload you have and also how many peers/connections are being allowed in. I tried playing around with a few settings and increased the windows tcp connections to 50 or so. I even used the forced encrypton in utorrent with no difference.

On the 6 mbit even if I have a bunch of torrents going and they are well seeded my max speeds are only between 100 - 200k while when I go online and use http servers I can usually get more than that.

So I was wondering is there anything else I can try?

1-2 is good, as I get. But you have no way to tell if people can upload higher than you get. If you get it for http and not BT, then blame your peers.

Encryption will slow down your transfers because now encryption has to be added to the packet, making the amount of data being sent, smaller to accommodate.

You have already explained why you will never get full speeds from your connection because like you said, it is not dependent so much on your connection, but is dependent on everybody else's upload connection who you are connected to
