Good afternoon, i recently got blink high speed access in trincity about a month and a half ago, but since then i have been unable to connect to certain games that i play online, mainly world of warcraft.

I have spoken with the blink technicians on several occasions have even been left on hold quite a few times which was rather frustrating. And all their suggestions to get it working have amounted to nothing so far. Then the inhouse technician came to look at the connection to see what the issue was. I showed him the trace route that i had run, which shows that the connection pinged all the way to the game servers but is being blocked by the isp. He told me to just call blink and tell them to turn off the firewall for me but when i called they seemed to think i was talking another language.

Now when i signed up i did enquire specifically about if i would be able to play this game along with unreal tournament 2007 and they gave me great assurances that i would be able to do so. And this obviously is not the case.

I"m using their 6211-I3-xxx modem i had already gone into the nat settings and opened the required ports for port forwarding to work. If it was possible i would have turned off the built in firewall that the modem comes with but there wasn't that option, i also turned off windows firewall but still no juice.

If anyone out there knows how to fix this issue i'm all ears. Thanks for your time.

Just call tech support and ask them to disable the firewall.

Thats what I did and it was disabled right away.

Also just make sure that if you have a firewall on your pc its allowing the ports as well.
