I"m curious to what speed others on dsl get when downloading a file. I get a steady between 30-32kbps. Has anyone had luck with optimizing dsl speeds with special software?

Is that 30-32 with a capital "K" or lowercase "k"?

My speed 33.17 KB/sec. I guess you can try to optimize your connection by changing your MTU value to 1500 and experimenting with TCP values. The only thing I ever changed was the MTU value. You can use TCP optimizer.

How do you change that? I have the speedstream modem.

Use TCP Optimizer http://www.speedguid...CPOptimizer.exe
Run the analyzer test here for values to experiment with

My fastest recorded download speed was 267Kb/sec or 33.38KB/sec.

You guys can use this free network monitor tool to see how fast your internet or network connection really is!

I have a 512k connection here at the office. I disconnected my ADSL due to (once again) TSTT and their cheating, lieing, stealing ways...when i had it however my connection was of course a 256k connection, but I know a number of early customers(back when it was like $600+/mth for DSL) who own a 512k connection.
They have 512k download and 768k up, which I find really weird, but at least their lucky to have it.
TSTT will never change their dirty ways, that's why even with a new name(talkin about TSTT being bmobile now) it's still the same crap company that lies, cheats and steals, but some trini people are mislead so easily that a new name to them means a totally new company.
I for one isn't fooled by their schemes.

That don't work .u may only get 3k speed increase nothing much you are asigned a particular amt of bandwith

there is nothing u can do really to tweak the connection beside suscribe to a higher package so well all have to settle for around 30-38 kb/s

anyone has any luck with tweakin holla

Or just wait til' Columbus liberates the sector and then the min connection speed will be 1mbit/sec for much less the cost of TSTT's current ADSL pacakage which literally robs us blind. TSTT cannot survive if they don't increase their speed when Columbus drops.
Only a matter of time =)
