Hey admin, I guess once you take the smart choice packages you will get the discount because when I signed up for it they said I did not qualify for the discount as I was on a yearly contract and that already came with a discount but I checked my bill online and saw that where I used to pay 380 I am now paying 342

Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to find that out from TSTT, contacted a few 'sources', but have never gotten any answer ... except I received several brocures, which never provided the answer to my question if existing HSIA subscribers will get the discount too.
Well, it seems you are now gettign two discounts.
You get the 5% off for the one year contract AND you get the 10% of from the SmartChoice package:
400 - 5% = 380
380 - 10% = 342
Quite interesting! Why can't I get that information?

did any of you guys see that tstt smartchoice ad on cnc 3 tonight ?

it had two fellas talking about the benefits of smartchoice -
they mentioned - if I recall correctly - that you get faster movie
and music (! lol) downloads and rebates on hsia.

well we all know about the rebates you get from the different packages, but
the stuff about the faster downloads got me thinking about the
massive slowdowns in p2p transfer rates earlier this week - which is most likely caused by throttling on tstt's side.

*putting on the tinfoil hat*

I'm now wondering whether tstt is throttling normal hsia users in favor of those who take one of the smartchoice packages.

Any thoughts ?

Btw Starcon I forgot to mention I am not on smartchoice and yeah ever since they did their "maintenance" last week I can no longer do p2p and browse the net even if I download stuff at 1K and upload at 1K, websites don't come up...really strange since if I do a bandwidth test I still have near maximum speed. This NEVER happened before this maintenance I could have downloaded at like 32K and sites would still come up albeit slightly slower, now they timeout all the time....

Pings have not improved either :s

Well...just to add to the speculation...I am a SmartChoice customer and I haven't noticed any considerable change in download speed. I use Azureus, Limewire and Ares without problems. I only wish I had a damn 512K connection (at least).

Is that without VAT? because I have smart choice gold, a one year contract, and the UWI student discount, (i belive that is 5%, not sure right now) and I am still paying close to $380, about $375 they told me. I haven't got my 1st bill as yet, so I am not sure.
