17meg not even possible inside an exchange as yet...most i ever saw was 15mb, a speedtest glitch most likely
U obviously are not speaking from a position of experience because i get between 2000-2300kb/s as in 2.0-2.3 MegaBYTES per second when i download from big sites, even megaupload an hotfile, admittedly though torrents sucks ass unless its a "legal" torrent but i don't use them much
TSTT Results
Last Result:
Download Speed: 17975 kbps (2246.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 671 kbps (83.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 28 ms

I've had to opportunity to run some tests over the past few months and these are the results i typically see
TSTT
Download Speed: 16216 kbps (2027 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 662 kbps (82.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 25 ms
Line rates as follows: (with modem plugged into calix equipment inside the exchange)
21560/797
I've seen actual downloads like torrents and usenet reach as high as 1.9MB constant but never over 2.0MB (thats a little over 15megabits) , these are from the chaguanas exchange so speed may vary in different areas, also i ran those test on a laptop so that might another factor considering its a older machine
whats your line rate look like ?
