Well as far as I saw, my ATM settings were wrong and well I had a problem connecting but that was because I was on dial-up with the same account I use for dsl.

But I disconnected from dial-up and it connected.

The only thing though, I keep getting a message about an IP address conflict when my mom switches on her computer. But that only happens sometimes, even before I updated the firmware.....

^^ Bump to the top for the person who sent me the e-mail asking about the download.

Here's the download...HOWEVER the instructions are on www.haventt.net but the site seems to be down right now! Also before you install it, you do know either the ethernet can work by itself or the USB can work by itself as well.

Sorry this guide will not be posted again. The witch hunts have begun. I'd not advise anyone to divulge this or any other information of the sort on a public forum, unless you want to be harrassed, snooped upon or even silenced.

Hi folks,

I was the one asking for the file. The link you gave me does not work, something about link expired or something. Is there any other way I can get it? Maybe if you have time you could upload it to my ftp site ftp://srnoth.gotdns.com ? I set it so you can create/upload files. It would be greatly appreciated.

I got an old laptop with no lcd that I want to use as a server for my website, which I currently run on my desktop. Problem is it has no ethernet port. It has usb though, so I was wondering if I could just connect the usb to the modem, and still my ethernet network connected to the modem too.

Oh, and what is it with this secret 'guide' that I'm hearing about, but that never seems to be there? Is it that the folks at TSTT are getting on ignorant about it?

Thanks,
Stephen.

Hey again,

Thanks Nightwolf for giving me the link. I have downloaded the update and, after a little tweaking, I got it to work. I will post some more details soon.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but the detailed user guide for the Speedstream modem can be downloaded from the following URL.

http://www.alltel.ne...edStream211.pdf

It essentially explains all the settings. Enjoy.

Sorry, for some reason that URL above displays incorrectly.
You need to remove "...e" from it; meaning the 4 characters between quotes.

I didn't get the opportunity to see the tweaks before they were removed and the manual looks a bit long/boring to read. Does anyone have any experience managing a CMS like Drupal or Mambo installed on a machine on their LAN but configured to use an external name like http://srnort.gotdns.com ? The router has a problem resolving the name back to a machine behind the LAN or something like that.

Hey there Corbeaux,

You don't need to hack the modem or anything like that to get it working. Just set the server machine with a static IP address, and configure port forwarding on the modem to forward whatever port the server needs to the IP address of the server. If you need some more detailed steps I'll post them when I get back to Tdad tomorrow.

Laterz,
Stephen.
