Ports 5060/6000

I had a SIP device sitting on the network with no probs for a couple weeks.
All of a sudden it can't register.
It was registering via nat.voiptalk.org:5065 or the 65.39.205.114:5082 (fwd) (Outbound proxy servers).

No change on my side or on the provider side.

Device works fine on Grenndot.

Any ideas?

Oh sound quality is good on green dot using SIP?

Yeah Sip worked for a few days on my dsl and then they seemed to have blocked those ports....this happened in august of this year.

The FWD services work, because they use port 4886 [Will have to check the PBX].

Remember all these ports are UDP. smile.gif

fwd is basically pc2pc communication - at no time there's any landline phone/service
involved - that's makes it kinda hard for tstt to shut it down, as it is not in violation of the contract.

SIP on Greendot is ok when their bandwidth (particularly upload) isn't less than optimal.

Oh that is good news, has the Green Dot been improving these past few months?

They are a bit more stable, but no where near as consistent or stable as TSTT DSL (as much as I never thought i'd be saying that)

Well it isn't really that surprising with Tstt having a serious monopoly on internet access in this country. Competition in that area is going to take a while...
