It seems that TSTT is soon launching the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) facility for their GSM network to access the Internet. TSTT's Michael Barrow mentioned the start for the 15th of Dec. 2003 and the 'commercial' start for the 1st ... aeh 2nd of April 2004.
I nice demonstration about the facilites (currently testing) was shown at todays ITPS postersession . A cellular with GPRS (always on the Internet) was wireless connected to a laptop using Bluetooth (not Gold!) providing Internet access to the laptop. Speeds are depending on the device and can range between 50-200 kbps (quite faster than standard modem access).
