In Topic: bmobile EDGE
Posted 20 Jun 2007
I have one of these Edge Cards 'GC89' on my laptop. While logged on to the bmobile GPRS network, I have seen burst speeds as high as 130kbps. The device is capable of these speeds. However, that being said. The service being provided by TSTT is a different story. In Arima, typically I see speeds of approx 3 to 4kbps (that's kbps, not kBps). In West Moorings, I typically see speeds between 1 to 2 kbps. This is with all 5 signal bars up. TSTT are not providing the bandwidth for this service. While it is correct that the service is capable of 128kbps. Nowhere, in any of the documents that I received when I signed up for this service, does it state the speed of the service. In my experience, this is slower than a regular dial up connection. I would be interested to hear what other people are experiencing with this service.
