  1. Setting up Blink Broadband with a 3rd party router

    Posted 14 Sep 2014

    Hey Guys,

I'm setting up a router for a friend of mine who has Blink Broadband, I believe the 2mbit package. When the ethernet is plugged directly into the computer, the internet works just fine. However, when the WAN Ethernet is plugged into the router, even though the MAC address of the computer has been cloned to the router, it does not get assigned any IP addresses from Blink. (even if you use the release and refresh options for WAN configuration). I'm assuming its something to do with 'connection type' option in the router which is Automatic/DHCP right now (other options are PPPOE, etc.)

We called Blink and they do not give assistance with 3rd party routers. The router is a Medialink Easy Setup Wireless Router http://www.amazon.co... r/dp/B0044YU60M

Anyone have any idea what might be the issue?
  2. Local only

    Posted 29 Nov 2008

I have a Belkin Wireless N+ router. Recently, it seems the router would just drop the internet but I am still able to connect to the router via the web address. What fixes it however is when I restart the router via the web configuration. Then the internet comes back normal.

What could be the issue? MAC address? server name?
  3. Torrents are painfully slow

    Posted 21 Sep 2008

My torrents are going incredibly slow, in between 20 to 60KB/s. Come to think of it. This is occuring with downloads as well. They are in the vicinity of say, 70 to 80 KB/s. I am accustomed to speed of torrents well over 90 KB/s and downloads in the 250 KB/s catagory. What could be the problem in this circumstance?
  4. Did our upload go up?

    Posted 30 Jan 2008

I'm uploading at 160KB/s, which is 1280mbits on a shared network (which means I'm getting less than what can be achieved in total). Anyone aware if our upload speed has been increased to say 1.5mbits?
  5. We have a speedtest node now

    Posted 18 Jan 2008

Go to speedtest.net, check it out. It's our recommended server now.

Lol, I wonder if it will be practical to test ping times, and it will be funny if those TST...oh sorry, Blinkers, are getting 200ms+.
