Hello; I a new and this is my first post; so please bear with me guys.

The problem is as follows.....included is my ip config/all results.

I am using windows media encoder to do a live broadcast, using the 'pull from encoder' option. This means i can give out my ip and port number (url) and all you have to do is paste it into media player to listen to me live.

For some reason no one can log on to my stream and the following error occurs......

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct.


All i have presently is a zhone 6211-I3 connected by rj45 to my desktop. I also have a linksys WRT54G2 to link wirelessly to my laptop but its NOT hooked up yet; as i am trying to avoid conflicts and get this thing working!!

My connection is the 512 package.

I am a newbie to networking; but here is what i know.

1 - Media encoder is listed as an exception in windows firewall

2 - According to the zhone settings the firewall in the router/modem is disabled.

3 - File sharing is working (limewire) and i can otherwise browse the net just fine.

4 - Im told it could be a port forwarding issue, BUT i dont know what to check and how to fix this.

5 - I need to link my WAN ip to my LAN ip for the broadcast to work??


OK GUYS; i need help

Help me to broadcast my music; i got the great offer of doing gigs on an internet radio station; and i really want to link up.

ALL and DETAILED advice is most welcome.
