TSTT seem to have modified something today.
At 7:45pm I got kicked out and got suddenly a new IP address from a range I never had before. The 186.45.x.x range was so far reserved for Wimax and maybe Blink on the Go users I thought. Anyhow, with this IP change, my speed changed too. From usually 4 mbps (Blink Premium Plus) at speedtest.tstt.net.tt to 1 mbps (max 1251 kbps).

I tried to get back my 'functioning' IP address range of 190.59.x.x, but to no avail despite a bunch of reconnects.
"Primary PPPoA (PPP over ATM) connection established, IP address 186.45.x.x assigned"

I thought that this might be related to flow's speed increase ... but why my connection is suddenly limited to 1 mbps? This means the end of streaming video (e.g. tomorrows F1 race in Silverstone for instance) with my Blink connection.
If this was something announced in the papers ... sorry, I didn't read the papers!

"All systems are currently performing within normal parameters" I hear on the phone and the Blink CSR in Guatemala (I guess) told me that TSTT does not support my non-TSTT ADSL modem ("Have a good day") since I use a Check Point UTM appliance with inbuilt ADSL modem.
I asked her if there were any technical changes at TSTT at around 7:45pm, but she told me that there were no changes.

OK, will check my backup line and see if I have the same problem there. Result: same IP range and speed.

I have now switched my web browsing from Blink to my Flow connection (currently at a steady 2 mbps).

Otherwise ... looking forward getting Flow's speed upgrade (I hope that this is still happening in 5 days).

Update: Checked with a few customers and they have the same new IP range for the ADSL connection starting from Friday evening.

The speed drop seems to be related to the time of the day as I am now getting more than twice the speed than an hour ago:

OK, it seems we are back to normal at 1:30 am:

Confirmed i notice this, the same day we had the blackouts,
been bounced around the 186 network ever since, constantly get 1 ~ 1.2Mbps on a 4Mbps connection,
however this morning (8:00AM)i reconnected and got on the 186.45.0.1 gateway (within 186.45.0.* range) and i pull at 14Mbps (normal speed for the pass few months)

maybe they have fixed things or are still working on it

*Things have slowed to about 3.3Mbps * 10:43AM
