Help configuring home camera system via Blink & Linksys router
Posted 5 Jul 2009
Hi folks, i'm really not good with networking so bear with me. I'm trying to access my home camera system (Q-see) from outside (via website or remote app) but having trouble getting the feed through my Linksys wireless router and Blink (Zhone) modem. Right now, the output of my modem is connected to an ethernet port of my router (following some advice somewhere else on this site) as is my main PC. Cameras are connected to my PC via a PCI card and a software runs and stores video locally. There is an option on this software for "Web camera service" via http port 80 and data port 1160. What do I need to do on my router and modem to allow for this traffic to go out?
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.20
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
Thanks in advance!
