oh no kemraj, i have flashed my phone many times. i've known how to do many things with it even before i got the thing. first time with a monster flash then nowadays with a reflash. i am an long time user of the modding sites and have successfully flashed mine and other phones. i have been able to change almost every aspect of the phones' software... outside image, wallpaper, i used editors to have my main screen deviod of almost everything, i have been able to make calls without opening the phone (removed that feature though), i edit the seems, i have changed the system font, the phone boots like windows xp, etc. don't worry i know what i am doing. and i have backups. your reference to an updated firmware i can't find though. according to one site i visit often, "As for now (August 14th, 2006), the latest stable files are: R374_G_0E.42.10R (Reflash_mlp_NODRM file). This is the latest firmware so far, with multiple letter phonebook search function, video recording function, and checkered board problem is solved. Note that as this is only a reflash file, it does NOT contain the flex part. There are no known bugs as of yet." also, it's www.planetmotox.net

oh no, i am an upgrade junkie. as soon as a new version appears (i could have ver 1.01.001 and version 1.01.002 comes out) i have to have it. i'm searching for the firmware as i type. i visit "that" site fairly regularly, but hadn't noticed the aug 14 firmware post. thanks for the heads up.

edit: erm, where is this updated firmware?

yeah, i love to modify/upgrade/program my devices. the razr phones and pda (along with my computers) allow me to do so. i've had my phone since jan 05 and can't stop modding. at this point all my gadgets are integrated, everything talks to everything else... very well i might add.

well i sorted it out, not entirely on my own but thanks to the internet and its various forums at-large.

for those of you who may encounter the same situation, perform the following steps on your pda (i have a palm tungsten t3):

    1. create a connection (prefs->communication-> connection), connect to local network via bluetooth (speed 115,200bps, flow control=automatic) to your paired bluetooth mobile.

    2. create a new network connection (prefs->communication-> network). User Name: {space}, Password: {space}, connection: {your newly created connection (see above)} -> details -> Connection type: PPP, Idle timeout: Never, Query DNS: Yes, IP Address: Yes - Automatic.

2.1 ... and here seems to be the part which makes it all happen. still in Details, tap Script... there enter the following:

    Send: AT&F0&DZ&E0
    Send CR:
    Send: ATV1W1595=47
    Send CR:
    Send: AT&K3
    Send CR:
    Send: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP" ,"INTERNET"
    Send CR:
    Send: ATD*99#
    Send CR:
    End

you can then test the connection by going back to the Network Preferences main screen and tapping on connect.

i can and do wow my friends by whipping out my pda anywhere (anywhere there is bmobile service that is) and connecting wirelessly to the internet to check my email and surf the web. it's really a geek thing, but i love it.

hope this works for/helps anyone out there.

    cheers!
