What I was thinking about is along the lines of WEP or WPA. Does the wimax modem offer WPA (or whatever else) like a router? Cuz I was thinking about buying a router and hooking it up just to get that kind of security. -

Well as it turns out one of the reasons why I was not getting thru to the activation page was because my IP address was wrong (configured for greendot). After numerous IP changes/configurations I still was not getting thru though. The Tech guy gave up and said that the device is probably faulty and someone else will contact me within 24hours. He advised me to still continue trying to access the activation page. I eventually got thru by doing numerous "page refresh" for the activation page and its been working fine ever since.
On a separate note I called TSTT Tech support about 5 times and all the CSR's were speaking with a strong Spanish accent. In the background you could hear other CSR's talking in spanish to each other and on the phone with customers in Spanish. Whats up with that? Kinda like when you call Tech support in the states and you get put thru to an Indian call center in India. Strange. -

Officially it took me about 5 months to get the Wimax service. The set up includes a USB antenna used for the wifi function (works well), LAN cable (used for initial activation), power cable/charger thingy, and the actual device (a "box"). My only problems is that I cant acess the web site to activate it. It receiving healthy signals, supplying healthy signal, but keep getting "invalid address error" web page error when trying to get to activation portal web site. Anyone has an experience with this? -

Well from personal experience the only way I was able to get a wimax box was because of no broadband service in the area. Now hearing that this wimax 4g is gradually being phased out..but say what. -

I found a blink-on-the-go Instruction manual online and it did mention the Franklin Wireless CCU-550. The Cradlepoint MBR series supports both the CCU-550 and U600 so no biggie there.
