  1. WIRELESS BROADBAND COVERAGE

    Posted 27 Nov 2006

    Good day

I just want to voice my frustration with TSTT and their Internet service. I initially took out a 20 hour dial-up package many years ago and after using it for a couple of months I upgraded it to the 50 Hour package because it wasn't enough because of it's slow speed. After using the 50 Hour package for a few months that proved insufficient so I upgraded to the single user unlimited package. I encounter a number of problems with dial-up. From slow speed, difficulty in connecting at times, unable to connect when rain falls and a few other problems. When TSTT introduced Broadband Internet I was one of internet users who welcomed it and applied several times but was told on each ocassion that I didn't qualify. That was so dissapointing. Imagine I had to pay $345.00 for a internet service that was plague with all the problems previously mentioned. Then they (TSTT) brought out Wireless (Broadband) Internet. This made me jump for joy because this looked as though this was my way out of this useless dialup service. I applied (under my company name) and was successfull. The only thing is I had to disable my present account with TSTT in order to process the application. I was given a USB device with the necessary software. I setup the software and installed the USB device in my computer but it didn't work where I operated. I had to use my laptop and drive around to get a connection. I took it back to TSTT to had it changed to the Gateway device but that didn't work at all. I then took it back to TSTT and cancelled the service because I wasn't prepared to pay the one-time $600.00 installation cost & $375.00 monthly installment for a service that was not working for me. After I cancelled this wireless internet service I re-applied for the 50 Hour dial-up package, in which I'm using presently. It's tough but I will have to bear with the in-efficiencies of dial-up until someday (maybe 2020) TSTT will get their act together and really improve their coverage of broadband internet.
