I am on a 1 year contract that isn't over so maybe that's why I haven't been upgraded to a higher speed. Has anyone, who's on a contract, been automatically upgraded to a higher speed after being switched to ADSL2?
I tried calling billing today to request the 1Mb package and ended up waiting for 17 minutes on the phone before finally giving up. It's service like that will make ppl switch to FLOW just to spite TSTT. Their high speed support is immediate now however since its outsourced.

The frustrating thing about my situation is that when I first got DSL at the begining of the year my SNR was 20+ and everything was great. Then something happened and we started getting noise on the phone anytime rain fell and the SNR would go negative. I reported the problem and when the repair guys came they said they had to switch the line or something since my original line was bad. After that repair job the phone noise problem stopped but my SNR use to hover between 8-12 and gradually fade to less than 5 overtime. Now after being upgraded to ADSL2 things have again took a turn for the worst with both SNR and attenuation degrading. I understand that I will get lower SNR with ADSL2 but when its already low...lower is bad. I have come to the conclusion that I am not too far from the exchange(2 miles) since I used to get SNR 20+ initially. So I guess TSTT's infrastructure in my area is just poor and I'll have to wait until they upgrade or FLOW runs digital.

BTW Is it just me or is hotmail and messenger down? Somehow I think its just me and it happened after the "upgrade" since messenger troubleshooter says everything is fine.

me i probably have 2 more years on mine and i ggot upgraded

not too long ago, downloading 4GB a day was definitely outrageous.

TSTT is merely trying to protect their quality of service (QoS)
They probably do not have the bandwidth to spare as yet as they are trying to remain competitive with FLOW.
The result is that more restrictions need to be in place so that they can accommodate everyone in their lust for 'broad band' while remaining a viable solution
They also probably willfully decided on 4GB since it is less that a single layer dvd in order to try to curb piracy... who knows?

To most users, 4GB a day is reasonable. most Trinis are speed demons and would-be abusers.
They want as much as possible, as fast as possible.

Hey, I am in the same boat :)
but at least I also have an understanding of how a business is run and can see that TSTT is trying.
At least they tell you up front instead of silently degrading your service

TSTT is merely trying to protect their quality of service (QoS) --needs to be quality for qos
