  1. TSTT Firewall

    Posted 1 Jul 2008

Hi. I recently contacted tstt and upgraded my ADSL account to 1mb and requested the firewall be disabled. A few days later the dsl was upgraded but the firewall was not disabled. I know this because I forwarded certain ports and used a port checker to see if it was open. and disabled the routers firewall. I called back tech support and they said 3 requests was made to disable the firewall and the reason it was not was unclear to me at the time as the technician just said it has been reported to help-desk.

I have no idea on the technical details of this process does anyone ? and why after 3 days it has not been done as yet.

Ps. Sorry for the typo in the topic description.
  2. TSTT Internet Nastyness

Not exactly sure where to post this. Mods can move it to the proper place.

This is how tstt does business. Since the arrival of dsl I have tried to acquire it but it seems I cannot. I went to a tstt branch some years ago and inquired as to how I could ascertain some hi speed dsl. I gave my Residential line# and was told line could not support it. I then said I had two lines, 1 for business and 1 for private uses. So i gave the business line #, which ofcourse is fully capable. Now i explained for obvious reasons (cost $) I dont want dsl on that line (its not even my line). The csr said well tstt is currently upgrading their cables to which i believed. That was about 4 years ago...

What do you think ?. Will my other phone in the same house same neighbourhood ever be upgraded ?. In my ignorance (yes some 4 yrs ago I was quite the believer in good things come to those who wait) I believed so. All numbers I have checked so far even the residential ones that were obtained AFTER my private line was issued are able to get dsl on.

So this is what happens. You have 2 lines 1 is BUSINESS and 1 is RESIDENTIAL. Dont hold your breath for DSL.

thanks tstt. People are willing to give you thier money for service but as usual like all companies you want more. :(

    Moral: get cable internet.

    Suggestions etc please post them.
