Or go to TSTT's website and look under "TSTT TOLL FREE "800" NUMBER SERVICES"

Quote

PAY "800" SERVICE

TSTT's Pay "800" service allows customers in Trinidad and Tobago to gain access to 1-800, 1-888 and 1-877 numbers in the USA and Canada. A Pay "800" call costs $TT2.00 (Vat exclusive) per minute. When a customer dials 1-800, 1-888 and 1-877 numbers, the call is routed to an announcement advising that the call can only be completed as a paid call and that caller must redial, replacing the 800, 888 and 877 code with 880, 881 and 882 respectively.

Just because it is a toll free number in the US ... it doesn't mean it is a toll free number in T&T.
Or is T&T already one of the states of the USA?

In case calling a toll free number in the US would be more expensive than calling a normal number ... I would agree that this is a bit off.

Anyhow, all countries have toll free numbers and most of them we might not be able to reach at all ... except when using VOIP e.g. Skype & Co.
