Guys, i was reading on Tuner that someone hacked the cable modem to give free internet or 15Mbps free for existing customers. Flow is probably pissed!
Anyone knows who did it? or how it was done.?

Bet he won't tell you how he did it, cuz he is just a loser looking for attention whoever he is. Such things cannot be done. Most times the speed is linked to your account so you could do whatever the hell you want, it won't go faster than what is tied to your account. Now in some countries they actually put a cap on the line itself especially for adsl but luckily that is not being done down here. It makes it easier for the ISP to manage accounts instead of having to send somebody to the exchange each time a customer requests a speed change. If he managed to get 15Mbps just so it was probably a fluke or he just using another account. I seriously doubt the motorola cable modems have such a unique flaw that only that 1 guy in tuner managed to exploit it, nonsense. Don't get high hopes about anything like that.
Check TCNISO.net all info is there on how to do it. Its pretty cool

Yeah this guy lives Arima and he says he cannot do it with BLINK only FLOW.
He says 90 days warranty and $2000 for lifetime 15MB internet or something so.
But then again I highly doubt flow will address this problem. Flow has little concern with communicating with customers.
Heck Flow never even heard of trinituner.

The guide on that website suggests that users are required to downgrade their firmware to docsis 1.0. Somebody with flow should give it a try and see if it actually works. For scientific reasons of course. In my thinking though one would expect that docsis 2.0 would have fixed these known security flaws of docsis 1.0 so the servers would still be docsis 2.0 even if clients are 1.0 and still be able to detect such vulnerabilities. I could be wrong though, so it would be good if somebody from here could give it a try.
well i tried the same day i got my modem and due to the way the flow modem config is done it is not possible to do so as you cannot dl or ul the new or old config file to the modem as flow's config file is serverside

If your account's capped at your package limit then there's nothing more than you can do...
Trust me in that there's hell to pay if the ISP realizes what you've done.Ask the guy who stole my TSTT dial up password when I had a limited package...

if you guys want pm me and i can get it done
one time fee $2500 for 15Mb

Anyone who pays that price for such a service is an id10t. Secondly digital cable companies usually monitor the bandwidth of users and if Flow cares about that sort of thing they will find the user and possibly take whatever action is necessary.
Thirdly, unlike most people who prefer to horde information with their classic 3rd world thinking, the folks out in the first world post this stuff online for free. Now that I know it can be done, I will probably investigate a VxWorks Killer for the modem and wipe the dust off my serial JTAG cable. If I get the answer I will post the solution for free, until then you can all buy it for $99.99USD over at TCNiSO. Still beats paying $2500.
