I'm losing my mind with how mad I'm with TSTT. I think I am going to reduce my package from 1Mb to 256Kb because this crap is happening every night now. I can't play any online games and youtube and a couple other site are not working properly either. I mostly use internet at night and if I can't make use of my 1Mb then its pointless.
Check out the tracert I just did on youtube:

Who don't bother playing online games, you will just embarrass yourself because of tstt. I just get fed up and stop hosting games for the past few weeks because it was embarrassing when everyone keeps complaining "lag lag", "delay", "n00b host", "host is a ?unt" etc etc. I just get fed up. If possible I take a game or 2 at mornings instead of at night. We have to take this high speed dial up from now till TSTT upgrades their network or until flow comes along.

x100
Reasonable statement by Lich King.

As who stated, youtube also has problems along with some other sites.
Makes no sense now paying for anything higher than 256k cause it's just like high speed dial up.

I have a serious problem. At first I taught it was just phpbb giving problem and DDOS attack then I realized TSTT has some serious issues.

Nearly every website I go on now its really like diving through mud I not sure whats happening because my Pings are normal. 130ms and 160ms average. Before i used to get 90ms mind you.

But thats not the point its taking waaay to long.

Torrents hitting at full blast though but browsing is a nightmare.

Also youtube giving some issues sometimes. Anyways I guess I can hardly complain considering what dialup was like. But still I can't see why after so long they can't sort out this problem.

How long I tell allyuh people C&W fiber maxxed out and allyuh eh want to listen. Even Digicel said it it has reached max capacity so TSTT buying bandwidth from FLOW. The minister spoke of upgrading TSTT fiber by 2012 to 2015. But Can't they do that faster?

By then everyone would have switched to flow.

These people in management sure they know what they doing?

Ok something is really weird. I was thinking that the latency and youtube problem were related to network load and related to each other but tonight during peak hours my latency went back to normal abruptly but youtube still wouldn't work. Also my download speeds are not really affected by either the latency or time of day

Sometimes youtube won't play on firefox, it usually works after I clear the cache. I simply use either Opera or Chrome and I get no issues with Blink, also use external dns servers.

I don't think you guys should use youtube as a benchmark because that is the most accessed website on the planet. They sometimes have bandwidth problems, and we not talking about mere Gigabytes or Terabytes but Youtube bandwidth exceeds several Petabytes per month. Youtube could probably rank higher bandwidth usage than the rest of the internet put together. If they do have some cap on their monthly bandwidth then they need to manage it so that could be the reason for slowdowns.

Hey Shane. I will try the browser switch to see if that makes a difference with youtube but that will not help my latency probs in games. What area are you from? Can you try to ping www.google.com at 8:00pm and let me know what's your average latency. I just want to confirm if this is a country wide problem or regional or just my personal problem.

yo this problem as i said earlier on is a central, south problem. North, East West Corridor is normal during peak and offpeak hrs. I've been told by ah tstt tech i kno that the fibre we're getting internet off is currently overloaded. So until TSTT decides to upgrade this thing or route us different i see no progess for a good while. And to make it worse they still putting more and more customers on the already over loaded fibre. BULLSHIT! so my friend no gaming between 7pm-12 midnight basically which SUCKS!

Sigh :(
edit: But wait...if the problems lies with a fiber optic within Trinidad that is affecting south and central then should it not affect the latency to www.tstt.net.tt as well as sites outside of Trindad. My latency to tstt's site is not affected...its only those sites that are outside of Trindad.

If that's indeed the case then customers south of Grand Baazar will suffer like we normally do...

well it kinda confusing. but yeah i guess the internatioanl amount of bandwith/traffic allocated to central south isn't sufficient or something but all i kno i real fed up. i wish tstt could read this damn forum and see what shit everyone going through.

TSTT is actually reading this forum and some people get directly contacted by TSTT Customer Care.
