Hi!

I just moved to a new house got the Flow modem (Arris TM502G) and a linksys router (WRT54G ver.6) here.
Problem is: When I connect the computer to the modem directly it works. When put the router in between, I can't get through to the internet although I can reach the router's configuration page (192.168.1.1).

I used the exact same configuration in my old house and the trick was to let the router clone the MAC address of the computer that was first connected to the Arris modem. But the modem in the new house was already here and I have no idea what the MAC address of the original sytem conntected to it could have been. On the other hand I already connected 3 different computers with different MAC addresses to the Arris modem and it worked. The only thing that can't get through to the modem is the router.

Any ideas?

power down the cable modem and the wireless router for about 15-20 mins, then power on the cable modem then connect the wireless router to it through rg45 after it has powered on. the cable modem should now associate with your wireless routers MAC address, so there will be no need to clone the MAc. Try this and see if it helps.

That worked! Thanks!

Here's what I did exactly:
1. Powered down the cable modem and removed backup battery.
2. Powered down router
3. Waited for about 2 hours
4. Powered on the cable modem and put the battery back in.
5. Powered up the router
6. Connected router via the Internet port (port 1 didn't work for this as always before!) to modem
7. Connected router to computer.

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

HOLD DOWN THE RESET BUTTON ON THE BACK OF THE ROUTER FOR 30 SECONDS.

Its less time consuming.

Yup so much easier to unplug your router, reset the modem with the button and plug back in the router. Done

This really helps with the Linksys Router and Arris Modem.
