Hey guys,

Yes, it is legit, but legal I'm not sure, lol.

I was just wondering why no one has been discussing the recent developements with Bmobile and it's Buzz Wap site that you can now access with your phone. I don't think it has been officially anounced yet, but plenty ppl know about it so it isn't some big secret. Also they have got mms finally up and running.

How many of you know about this? What do you think of the Buzz stuff that's available? Personally it is a waste of money, I just downloaded all the free samples, lol. The bmobiletones are trash, they're highly compressed and too quiet to use as a ringtone. The polytones aren't that bad, but at $9??? Come on.

Anyway, that isn't the only developement. As you can see with my first post, you can also get free internet access (GPRS??) on your phone if you play around with the Buzz settings a bit. Does anyone know about this one? I don't want to blab my mouth too much if it is still a big secret.

If they do decide to give free unlimited GPRS access I think that would be a major incentive for people to stay with them when the competition arrives.

Anyway, just wondering why none of this has been discussed.
Laterz,
Stephen.

Hey guys,

I'm not sure about the site Senti_al is talking about, but we were kinda discussing this here:
http://209.68.25.71/...topic=308&st=15

But anyway, the basic settings are:
-----------------------------------
AP Name:
buzz

Access Mode:
Http

Use proxy:
Yes

Gateway/Proxy IP address:
192.168.210.104

Port for Proxy server:
8080

Password request: off

Autentication:
Normal and Secure (check both)

Data Compression:
Off

Header Compression:
Off

No DNS/IP address/Username/password

-----------------------------------

Those are all the settings I can find on my phone. It has worked on every sony ericsson I've tried it on, and most motorolas. Nokias seem to be a bit different, but you can allways try it.

You can also get these settings sent to your phone automatically, if you're lucky enough to have one of the phones they recognize. Just send a text message to 6827 in the following format:

Wap [phone brand] [phone model]

for example:

Wap sonyericsson J300i

That worked for my phone, except that you could only access the silly Buzz site. To access the entire net, I had to change the access mode from WAP to Http, and to enable the proxy server thing.

If they don't recognize your phone model, try entering a model number of a phone that is similar to your's, I know that the motorolas seem to work with the settings for any motorola phone.

Oh, and also if it doesn't work once keep trying. It is not a very reliable service, sometimes you have to restart the phone and stuff to get it to work.

And I highly recommend downloading the Opera Mini browser if you do get it to work, since the built in one on your phone only works with some websites. Opera Mini allows you to view any ordinary webpage. Just go to mini.opera.com on your phone.

Hope that helps you guys,
Laterz,
Stephen.

Hmm still not getting a connection.... I have a Nokia 3200 btw. Tried sending a text to the number you gave however it sent back a message saying the settings would be sent to me shortly but I still haven't gotten anything as yet!

(Hope I didn't have to pay for that message  ) LOL

You're only supposed to be able to visit THEIR site for free....and they haven't totally setup GPRS on the b-mobile network as yet. This according to a CSR that I spoke to!

I think that they'll configure the network when they figure out a way to charge us for it.
