Hey does anyone here stil use dailup or slow gprs like me recommend a download accelerator that actually works? i tried one yesterday that actually worked slower. lol.

download acelerators won't work well on dialup or slow internet service. if u need faster downloads, i would recommend wireless broadband.

Oh ok, well laqtel is like a week or month away , i hope, so I'll have one more wireless options to choose from. Are there any other wireless broadband isps in TnT than the three phone companies?

How slow is your gprs coz I does use gprs an I does get speeds much faster than dialup.

Blame it on bad reception. my phone doesnt have edge either. The maximum i shud get is 48 kbs, the last test set it at 27kbs. Download speeds are 6-9 kbs on good days but 3Kbs and less on at other times. It also works better when my phone is fully charged.

well i have gprs d last time i check d speed was 62.3kbs an dey say i can get a download speed of around 8.5kbs,so thats not bad to me.

I use GetRight as my download manager.
It's not really much of an accelerator but it does "speed up" you download in a way because it can download from more than one source at the same time.

It does help when you are using TSTT's dial-up. Although sometimes my connection is SO BAD at time that even that doesn't help.

As for other wireless boradband ISPs besides the 3 phone companies, there are Greendot (www.mail.tt) and Roofnet (www.roofnettt.com).

I used to use DAP until they started bundling a whole bunch of spyware.
I never really did try FlashGet, but GetRight is free and is easy on PC resources.

I'l check them out well as much as i can. gprs was slow for me this weekend but its picking up enough for me to test stuff out. I'll also check out those isps.

if there was a way for uh download to utilise uh full connection or maybe half,like u get 42.6kbs an u get to download at around 36 or something,that would be great but sadly the world does not work that way.

when you connect at 42.6kb/s that is bits per second, when you download it is in bytes, 8 bits make up a bite, therefore with a connection of 42.6kb/s your max download speed is 42.6/8 = 5.325 kbytes per second.

Hope that clears it up.
