One of the biggest hurdles TSTT seems to face is in getting approvals from Government to carry out excavation and construction works to lay cables, install cabinets etc. Similar problem in erecting cell sites.

There's a lot of frustration in that company (TSTT) and I had reason this week to feel sorry for some of the staff.

Some of them are working hard but it's like hitting their heads on walls to get some stuff done.

same here ....i went to pay my ev-do bill and for the third time i got the <DELETED> look from the rep ...it seems like tstt has not imformed them about the proceedures in checkin ev-do balances however the rep tried he managed to get the balance

it seems the problem starts from all the way from the top of tstt

i blame Lack of proper management

all TSTT needs is serious competition to buck up. thusrday 22nd march 2007, i used dialup for the first time in almost 6mth. i was trying to download an important file for me to log on with digicel EDGE. the file was a 9mb file. it took me several tries to log on to TSTT dialup. after logging on, i told myself it would take less than an hour to download the said file. i was totally wrong on that. i took me moore than 4hours to get a small file like that. during that period, there was alot of disconnections and sometimes when i was logged on, there was no internet activity. after i finished downloaded the file, i told myself, good thing i took wireless broadband when they had it available. from the last time i used dialup from last year, it was not that slow and i was not getting several disconnections like what i was getting thursday. TSTT dialup have downgraded alot. i have heard alot of people who have dialup getting plenty problems with them. i hope
TSTT don't use that as main source of going online because alot of people are paying for a service that is not performing well. if someone gives TSTT serious competition, then maybe they might improve their services. i welcome any company which can provide quality service in telecommunication arena..

You got that right about TSTT needing competition.
Thank goodness for Digicel, at least now we have better service and rates with mobile calls.

As for dial-up. That gets worse everyday that goes by. I don't think it's downgrading, I think it's more like deteriorating. One day it will just stop completely.

what i heard from someone in the IT department at TSTT is that they are not doing upgrades or further work on dialup and that is why people are getting all these problems. that is why when wireless broadband came out last year i thought they would released it to residential customers, because my IT friend told me they were going to use the wireless broadband as an alternative for broadband in areas where ADSL was not available. they were trying to attract dialup customers to switch to broadband. now TSTT is not making it available to anyone now, not even to corporate customers because the wireless broadband is tooo congested. even if dialup is the only alternative right now and the service is not great, TSTT should have lower the rates of dialup for unlimited usage and do some work to improve their dialup network until they are ready for wireless broadband. it is only common sense. like them people in managerial position at TSTT are nutheads.
