dialup will be a thing of the past in the near future. only people of our generation would have experienced or knew dialup. i don't even see ads in the states with dialup packages, but as usual with tnt, we take sometime to adapt to new technology. years to come, all of us will be laughing and talking about the drawbacks of dialup and we could download a dvd movie in bout 20mins online. i can't wait for that day.
Dream on dude, you will be a grandpa before that happens down here. On a 1Mbps connection it would take 8.33 hours to get 4500MB of data. And the only way you could get 4500MB in 20 mins is with a 3.75MB/s which is 30Mb/s which is inconceivable in this country. It is nice to have hope though.
Oh yea, tstt customer service denies any information regarding upgrades to 512. I hope somebody could get us some inside info on that.

Besides I heard the Minister of Internet on news saying that he plans to reduce the cost of broadband internet. Of course promising something and doing it is totally different so I think broadband prices will go down not because of that Minister but because of market liberalization.

From what I heard, I believe TATT is blocking TSTT from reducing their dsl prices.

That just really sucks.
Why would they do such a thing?
It doesn't make any sense.
Isn't the TATT supposed to be looking out for the consumers?

Remember the gov't is pushing for the opening up of the market, that means they want the new commers to have a good chance of survival, if tstt dropped their dsl, when flow launches they'll have to launch at a rate close to that, which will mean less income for the new commers, so they won't allow tstt to drop their price as yet, but eventually prices will fall.
That's my opinion, I may be wrong.

Telecom regulation means set prices with each telecom having to request a price increase. We have to get the good with the bad and remember that there's more to pricing your product than what the customer wishes it to be.

Heard from a reliable source that TSTT is deploying ADSL2+ networks throughout the whole country and that 512k (unlimited) will actually be the slowest speed they will offer.. at a fraction of the cost of Flow's current unlimited pricing... I was told to wait a month.. I'm waiting!!!!
