Are there any laws for Dial Up Speed? Laws on slow internet dial up?

Are there any laws on slow internet dial up speeds? I would love to find out about limits and so on....

That would be nice to know that we have a say about it.

I think they are supposed to supply at least half the advertised speed/bandwidth at any point in time but I don't really think there is a law per say to enforce that.

According to the Quality of Service document published by TATT Schedule F QOS, the specified speeds are:-

Average Bandwidth to Consumer
The Average download speed, in kilobits per second (kbps),
for both dial-up and broadband services.
Dial-up access: ≥ 28.8 kbps
Broadband access: ≥ 128 kbps or
≥50% of advertised throughput


A complaint to TATT can be made if any of the criteria in that document are not met after making a complaint to the ISP.

Well isn't that interesting. How many services actually stick to that though? The only one so far has been TSTT DSL.
