  1. Flow blocking port 25 (SMTP)

    Posted 12 Apr 2016

A bunch of people contacted me in the last few days reporting that they are unable to send any mails. It looks like Flow is again blocking port 25 (SMTP). Affected customers should use the alternative port of your email service provider.
I wonder how that works with devices trying to report a problem via email. Usually they are set by default to port 25. Looks like no reports until Flow is again able to provide this basic service.
  2. How to change ADSL password

    Posted 2 Nov 2014

At the recent change of my Blink ADSL routers the technicians were fast and didn't bother that I had set up individual passwords for each Blink account and they called in and let the password reset.
Now I was trying to set new passwords and the Blink site does no longer function for 'Dial Up Usage Checker' and 'Dial Up Change Password' which I previously used for changing my passwords.
In addition I got the impression that the 'Contact Support' form underneath is just a dummy form without any functionality at all (checking the html source code).

Anybody has a clue how to change the Blink account passwords?

Not having Internet on my second Blink line for the whole weekend and seeing that the ADSL stats are sufficient to support a connection and seeing in the syslog that the router attempts a PPP session every few seconds ...I believe somebody else might be using my ADSL account.

Update: Called in, they changed my password and the connection is working again.
  3. ADSL Downtime

    Posted 25 Aug 2014

While I had ADSL disconnect problems in the past, it seems something is again wrong with ... the service, my line, Zhone 6211-I3 modem or ...
Since Sunday afternoon my ADSL line does not work too well.

After 6 days without problems, the connection dropped frequently with the longest uninterrupted period of 2 hours and 6 seconds.
The line sounds 'perfect' to me as there is no static and the dial tone is loud and clear.

Did another modem power cycle and the connection is now stable for the past 30 min.

    Anybody else with similar problems?
  4. Flow Support

    Posted 21 Feb 2014

Today, after fighting some Flow connectivity issues with Check Point Safe@Office units, cloning MAC addresses to get the Internet connection back online, sending an email request via their website, I unfortunately decided to give them a call.

After stating that I am and three other business clients are experiencing the same Flow connectivity problems, solvable via cloning the MAC address to just another one, the support lady told me to set all configurations back to when it was working.

I told her that at the same time four Check Point Safe@Office units are experiencing the same problem and she insisted that it is not on the Flow side and must be the 'customer equipment'. Well, I told her that I did not really expected anything else from Flow support and asked for the supervisor. ... well, that was the end of that. She just hung up.
As a result I decided to downgrade my Flow package and save $1,200 a year.
  5. Flow = Slow

    Posted 13 May 2013

Flow Internet is moving at a crawling speed right now. Impossible to use! Switched back to Blink and it works fine.
